Not because she was an egoists, though she liked to wear the Chanel scent to her public appearances, her own personal inside/outside gag! Ann had a great streak of humility, especially toward her screenplays and fellow scene partners. She knew Vera was a feral “scary meanie” (Ann’s words) who demanded a tight leash when she let her out of the cage. XO, kent
