There's a moment in A Star is Born (1976), when Barbra Streisand sings "Evergreen", with Kris Kristofferson opposite her. She starts alone, and he then joins in. His participation feels spontaneous, like he can't stop himself from harmonizing with her. They're singing live, too. So what we're seeing is a moment in time, not a bunch of moments pieced together in the editing room.
